Piercing Aftercare
Treat your new piercing as you would any wound. Personal hygiene is paramount for the healing process. If you are healthy and keep yourself clean, your body can heal perfectly well; overuse of cleaning agents or microbe control agents, will only irritate the healing tissue. For all oral and nipple piercings safe sex should be practised until your piercing is fully healed.
Aftercare solution can be purchased from our studio.
Alternatively you can use either one or both of the following solutions for cleaning your piercing.
Use a mild saline solution,
preferably sea salt although table salt can also be
used. Dilute ½ teaspoon of sea salt in a pint of
water. Or use a mild liquid antibacterial or
germicidal soap to clean your piercing.
Then bathe the piercing site carefully with a
cotton wool swab removing any crusting that may have
occurred. Ensure that the jewellery will
turn
freely. Clean your piercing twice a day and pat the area
dry.
